Doctors at the Biological Psychiatry Laboratory at McLean Hospital are conducting a clinical research study to evaluate an investigational supplemental drug for OCD.

What we are studying

Doctors at the Biological Psychiatry Laboratory at McLean Hospital are conducting a clinical research study to evaluate an investigational supplemental drug for OCD.


You may qualify if you:


·     Are between the ages of 18-65


·     Are diagnosed with OCD


·     Are currently on medication for OCD


If you are 18-65 years old and qualify for this study, you will receive study related medical evaluations, including a complete physical exam, and study medication at no cost.  Participants will be asked to attend between 6 to 12 office visits, and 3 to 5 phone calls. Study participation may last between 4 to 16 months.

You may qualify if you:

You will receive compensation for the time and inconveniences related to your participation in this study. Details about the amount of compensation and the payment schedule specifying the specific amounts and timing of payments are:


You will be paid $75 for each completed in-person study visit, which includes:


1) Visit 1 – Screening (Screening Phase)


2) Visit 2 – Baseline (Randomization Phase)


3) Visit 4 – Week 4 (Randomization Phase)


4) Visit 6 – Week 8 (Randomization Phase)


5) Visit 7 – Week 12 (Randomization Phase) or early termination


6) Ext Visit 2 – Week 4 (Extension Phase)


7) Ext Visit 4 – Week 8 (Extension Phase)


8) Ext Visit 5 – Week 12 (Extension Phase)


9) Ext Visit 6 – Week 24 (Extension Phase)


10) Ext Visit 7 – Week 36 (Extension Phase)


11) Ext Visit 8 – Week 48 (Extension Phase)


12) 2-Week Post Dose (either after Randomization or Extension phase)


 


You will be paid $25 for each completed study phone call, which includes:


1) Visit 3 – Week 2 (Randomization Phase)


2) Visit 5 – Week 6 (Randomization Phase)


3) Ext Visit 1 – Week 2 (Extension Phase)


4) Ext Visit 3 – Week 6 (Extension Phase)


If you do not complete the entire study, the amount you receive will depend on the portion of the study you completed, as shown above in the payment schedule, even if the study is cancelled or stopped by the sponsor or designee.


You will be paid at the end of your participation in the study.

Study Phase

Phase 2/3: This project studies whether a medication or treatment works for people with a specific disease or condition. It may specifically look at different groups of people, different dosages, or different combinations of medications or treatments. The drug or treatment has been studied for safety in healthy volunteers, but the project will continue to look at safety and short term side effects.
