What we are studying

Researchers at McLean Hospital in Belmont, MA are seeking right-handed participants between the ages of 18-45, either with no history of mental illness or with a history of depression, to understand depression and the brain, in particular, the role of the Nociceptin/Orphanin FQ receptor system. The study includes four sessions over 12 months, including an MRI/PET scan, and a total time commitment of up to 13 hours. If you are eligible to participate, you can receive up to $1088.50.

Healthy Volunteers

Healthy volunteers are eligible for this study

The study involves several blood draws, so participants must not have a history of phobia or fainting due to blood procedures.

Each participant will be asked to complete clinical interviews, questionnaires, computerized tasks, an fMRI scan, a PET scan, blood draws, and smartphone surveys.
