Do you know a baby with eczema, food allergies, or a first degree relative with peanut allergy?

In this NIH sponsored study, we are recruiting infants aged 4-11 months of age who have not yet consumed peanut-containing foods.

This project is not recruiting.

Infants between 4-11 months of age who have eczema, any food allergy, or a mother, father, brother or sister with a peanut allergy. Study participation lasts about 2-3 years. 


Healthy Volunteers

Healthy volunteers are eligible for this study

Infants with a history of feeding problems, infants with a history of peanut reactions or are able to tolerate peanut-containing products

Participants will be asked to complete a skin prick test, blood draw, physical exam, and observed consumptions of peanut butter or peanut powder. Patients will also be asked to complete monthly smart phone surveys in order to monitor peanut consumption and reactions. Patients will also be asked to vacuum a defined area of their child's bed and to send the dust sample back to the study team in an prepaid envelope.

Estimated Time Commitment

3 sessions over 3 years


Patients will be paid $80 for the baseline visit, $100 each for the 18-month and 30-month visits, and $10 for each follow up survey. The payment for the 18-month visit will be sent once we receive the peanut dust sample collected. If your child is peanut allergic, you will be paid $10 for the 18- month and 30-month follow-up calls.
