Can you help us learn more about heart failure and how to treat it?
Enrollment for this study is expected to close on Monday, September 22, 2025
Overview
What we are studying
HeartShare is a study of heart failure, which is a common and serious medical condition that occurs when the heart is unable to keep up with the demands of the body. HeartShare aims to better classify heart failure into subtypes to help develop more personalized treatments for patients. To do this we will ask people to undergo tests such as MRI scan,, cardiac ultrasound , a cardiopulmonary exercise test, bloodwork and surveys over a 2-day period. The overall goal of the HeartShare Deep Phenotyping study is to examine Heart Failure with Preserved Ejection Fraction (HFpEF). HFpEF is a condition whereby the blood pressure in your heart is higher than normal causing shortness of breath with activity. We hope to create a rich repository of data that will serve as a resource for investigators to identify novel strategies for enhanced diagnosis and treatment of heart failure
Why it is important
It is our hope that if we can learn more about heart failure, we can better care for patients in the future and ultimately improve their lifestyle and quality of life.
What we hope to accomplish
We hope to enroll approximately 200 participants at MGH over the next 3 years.
