Seeking patients with a psychotic disorder

We are seeking individuals with psychosis, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, and bipolar disorder with psychosis who have been diagnosed within the past ten years for an imaging study on cognitive difficulties in psychosis.

This project is not recruiting.

We are looking for participants who are 18-35 years old and had a diagnosis of psychosis, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, and bipolar disorder with psychosis (within 10 years of appearance of symptoms) with no current alcohol or substance abuse disorder. 


 

Individuals with metallic implants, pacemakers, cochlear implants, and those with history of seizures are not eligible for this study. Pregnant individuals are also not eligible to participate.

The study involves 4 visits (lasting 2.5 hours each) to the Charlestown Navy Yard Campus of Massachusetts General Hospital. The participants would undergo psychiatric screening, attention and memory tests, TMS and MRI scans.


Project activities may include:

  • Survey
  • Office visit
  • MRI scan

Estimated Time Commitment

3 visits over 2 weeks


Participants would receive up to $400, and parking voucher will also be provided each visit. Additionally, participants will be reimbursed for Uber/Lyft rides to/from our center up to $50 per visit.
