Ultrasound Study for Adults with HIV
This project is not recruiting.
Overview
What we are studying
We are using types of ultrasounds to determine the prevalence and risk factors of fatty liver disease in adults with HIV.
Why it is important
Currently, there is not much research on the prevalence or risk factors of fatty liver in HIV-positive people. This research study will help researchers understand more about why fatty liver occurs and who is at the most risk, and if HIV and HIV-medications are associated with the development of fatty liver.
What we hope to accomplish
This research is aimed at understanding the occurrence of fatty liver in the HIV-positive population, and if there any associated risk factors, like past HIV medications.
